Participating Countries

During 2009, The Ministry of Culture of Republic of Bulgaria organized for another year the national stage of the International Heritage Photographic Experiment. This initiative is gaining more and more popularity in the country, with the help of the annual campaign in the framework of the European Heritage Days. The number of young people, who are taking part in the initiative, is increasing continuously. We are noticing with a great satisfaction that the quality of photos which we are receiving is getting better and the sphere of shot objects is extending and getting more varied. As organizers of the event, for us is harder to choose the winners, among so many good works, in which the young photographers are presenting their view about the cultural and natural objects, historical monuments, churches and monasteries. This year we have turned the attention of the Bulgarian participants not only to the cultural monuments, but to the surrounded environment. In this connection The European Landscape Convention of the Council of Europe was presented to the young people. In return we have received photographs, in which young people’s view for the combination of different kinds of heritage, and for the necessity of joint efforts in their protection and socialization were reflecting. We hope, that the preconditions which we are creating with our common work, in order to extend the access of the young people to the heritage of our ancestors, is going to contribute to the development of their creative work. We are sure that this is the right direction, exactly in 2009 - the European Year of Creativity and Innovations, to contribute strengthen of the diversity of European cultures as the brightest distinguished feature of our continent. I wish future success in the creative fearlessness to all of the participants!
