The goal of the International Monument Photography Experience (EFIM) is to encourage students to take a look at
their cultural heritage. The competition aims to establish a
dialogue between European youth and their surroundings,
using photography as a means for creating a digital image of
the real world we inhabit.
Creativity is the engine that drives change, innovation and
development. It is the natural territory of the young, the habitat
frm which they explore reality and promote its transformation.
For this reason, unleashing their views on their heritage, which
symbolizes the past, is an undertaking which is risky, enriching
and necessary.
This catalogue is the result of this experience, offering a
framework for the global collaboration that exists between
the world’s many countries and regions. Ten of the selected
images here are frm Castilla-La Mancha. Their presence is the
final result of a process in which more than 1000 young people
participated—including residents of Albacete, Ciudad Real,
Cuenca, Guadalajara and Toledo. The work of all of these young
people, including those whose photos do not appear here,
deserves the acknowledgement of local institutions and all the
citizens of our community. Their love for our artistic and natural
heritage brings us all together, as do their efforts to preserve
said heritage and give it its due. The incorporation of future
generations in this process is wonderful news for us all.
The award-winning pieces are evidence of the support the EFIM
project has received frm Castilla-La Mancha. They also allow
a distinct image to travel beyond our borders and show our
heritage, which belongs to us all by means of this initiative, and
which I personally invite you to come and see. |
