For the different cultural competences of the Consejería de
Cultura, it is extremely necessary to increase awareness amongst
our school children of the importance of protecting and
maintaining the national heritage. It is therefore fundamental
to teach the young how to respect the cultural items that make
up our heritage and to give them a wide range of views that will
allow them to enhance the image they have of other cultural
bodies, above all those that are far away.
That is why the Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía, through
the Ministry of Culture of Andalusia, is participating for the
fourth time in the International Monuments Photographic
Experience.
Our goal is to stimulate knowledge and defend Andalusian
cultural patrimony. We therefore decided to enhance youngsters
participation to 600 pupils, representing three educative centres
frm three out of the eight Andalusian provinces (Huelva,
Granada and Sevilla). They were in charge of representing the
richness of our heritage frm their own point of view.
We are aware that arousing artistic creativity in youngsters
regarding their cultural patrimony leads to a better respect of
our cultural heritage, frm all sides.
We would like to thank all the participants for their work,
congratulate the prize-winners and invite the general public to
make the most of the selected photos.
