The Czech lands have a rich and full history. People came here
from all corners of the world to cultivate our country not only
to order castles to be built and decorated, churches erected
and monasteries founded, but they also influenced the overall
architectural design of the country’s cities.
The best architects have left marvelous structures in the Czech
Republic, including secular and church structures, private
and public buildings, decorative and utility facilities, all of
monumental as well as minimalist design.
For the third time the International Heritage Photographic
Experience has been held in the Czech Republic, organized
by the Association of Historical Settlements in Bohemia,
Moravia and Silesia. This Association is one of the oldest nongovernmental
organizations in Czech Republic and is helping
to create conditions and instruments for the preservation and
permanently sustainable use of the cultural heritage. Its attention
is focused on historical settlements, but does not neglect other
monuments, the immovable and movable heritage, and the
traditional folk culture. IHPE is great opportunity to speak to
young people and to rouse up their interest about our cultural
heritage.
