Abiding by the traditions, this year as well talented youth of
Azerbaijan actively participated in photo contest held in our
republic under the European Council’s “Europe: Common
Heritage” campaign, tried to promote our centuries-old rich
culture, historical sites, natural and cultural heritage and our
national customs and traditions.
The joyful fact is that the youth annually participating in this
contest is not being satisfied with taking standard photos
reflecting only historical and cultural sites. Year after year quality
of these photos, originality of the creation ideas and artistic
performance, discoveries made by youth in their search for new
are colorizing this contest.
On the one hand this campaign promotes the ideas of cultural
heritage protection and its propaganda among the youth; on
the other hand it creates the opportunity of getting acquainted
with the history and arts of different countries and enriching
the world view. In fact by being involved with this kind of events
our youth is participating in further development of existing
mutual cultural relations in Europe and in establishment of
intercultural dialogues as well. The most important is that along
with the interest in culture of these countries, the interest in
people, respect to them and friendly relations are being arisen.
Of course this fact by itself represents a guarantee for peace and
tranquility.
I believe the Azerbaijani youth as supporters of peace and
stability in the world will actively participate in other events
like this and will be able to make good use of their talents and
abilities in order to propagandize and present our culture as
a part of European culture and in general as a part of human
civilizations.
