Truly, the process of preparing and staging this first participation
by the Dominican Republic in the International Heritage
Photographic Experience has proved to be a difficult and
arduous task for a group who lacked experience of activities at
an international level.
However, our satisfaction with the support we have received,
as well as the enthusiasm of the young participants, has
encouraged us to go ahead and start to prepare for participation
in next year’s event.
On this first occasion, effort has been concentrated on showing
a heritage site of the first order: the colonial district of Santo
Domingo, an early outpost of European, most particularly
Spanish, presence in the New World, which has been declared
World heritage by UNESCO. |
