On this occasion more than 50 countries are participating in the
International Heritage Photographic Experience, consolidating
the international character of the IHPE even further.
For Starblitz this is the fourth year we have participated as
sponsors. Our identification with the event has always been
complete and unconditional, given the Experience’s ability to
promote photography as an art.
Over the last four years of our participation, a period that
might seem short, we have witnessed important changes,
such as the move from analogue to digital photography, and
the incorporation of countries whose participation would have
been unthinkable until a short time ago such as Bosnia and
Croatia.
Although the move from analogue to digital photography
has meant a change in the way images are captured, the aim
continues to be the same: the reproduction of an image on
the medium of paper. We therefore believe that photographs
reproduced on paper will continue to form part of our culture
when sharing our experiences with those around us.
Finally, on behalf of the Starblitz company, I would like to
take this opportunity to thank the Generalitat de Catalunya,
the Council of Europe, the participating teachers and schools,
and all the public and private institutions that have taken part
in each of the participating countries, for their endeavours in
raising awareness about photography and stimulating the
interest of young people in historical heritage. |
